Course Overview

Modern nonwoven fabrics are frequently complex composites of several fabric types. This course surveys the major nonwoven processes, product testing, and focuses on the details of processes such as winding, slitting, finishing, laminating, and molding. The structure and end uses of some typical composite products are investigated.

What you will learn:

  • Nonwoven processes
  • Product testing
  • Composite fabric processing
  • Composite fabric dyeing and coating
  • Composite fabric chemical finishing
  • Composite fabric laminating and molding
  • Composite fabric converting
  • Properties of composite structures
  • Composite end-use product properties

Why attend...

This course provides an overview of nonwoven processes, product testing and details of composite fabric processing, dyeing, coating, chemical finishing, laminating molding, and converting. The properties of composite structures and some typical products are discussed.

Who should attend...

Persons in management, marketing, manufacturing, and process and product design in firms producing, or contemplating production, of composite should benefit from this in depth coverage of raw materials, processes, and products. Suppliers to the industry as well as consumers of its products should also benefit. Prior exposure to nonwoven technology is useful but not required.
