Research is a primary focus for the institute.The research agenda for the Nonwovens Institute is offered through its centers.  The Nonwovens Cooperative Research Center (NCRC) has developed core research, non-core research, and product development activities.

Extension and Engagement is vital to the Nonwovens Institute.A variety of services to the nonwovens and affiliated industries.   These included Product Development, Analytical Services, Short courses and Consulting.

Education is at the core of the Nonwovens Institute. A variety of educational and training programs are offered.  These include on-line courses, short courses as well as in-plant training programs.
